Speaker 1:It's 2024, and welcome to the.
Speaker 2:Christian Cafe. This is Glenn, your host. I am glad you have stopped by today to join in with this program. My apologies to you that it's been a while. There's been some sickness going on in family and just other things that I was taking precedence, and for that I do apologize. But we're back on the air and we're here to deliver some word to you today from God's Word. Hopefully that is something that you can enjoy in upliftable spirits and it will minister you today. That's what this program's all about. We're here just to reach out to those that want to listen and spread God's Word and give a good report, because we know God is still on the throne. God is still performing miraculous things. We've been seeing some things in the news take place and we are excited about what God is doing in our lives and around the world. I'm glad you have stopped in today and you are tuning us in.
Speaker 2:Like I said, it's been a rough year but it's been a great year. God has done some awesome things and I could not begin to tell you the things that he's done. We've seen people healed, people saved a lot of things that's taken place. I know, in where you're listening from today, that God is doing great things there. We've been doing a lot of things in local this year. We've gone over to Belize for a while for a mission trip. We got to see some of the people that are in our church over there that are still working for God. We're seeing some great things take place in Belize and all over the world and even in our other countries that our church supports. In Haiti, I just got through finishing a building, a building that had been torn down and now it's up back up and they're in service again. It's just great to see what God's doing. I know he's doing great things and I just can't begin to fathom what he's got in store for 2024. If you come into 2024 not expecting something great from God, then I just don't know about you. I just expect something great every day. I know some days I get up I just wish I'd go back to bed, but then those other days I'm excited about what God is doing. I have purposed in my heart this year that I want to see God do greater things than I saw last year. Like I said, I've seen some great things take place in 2023, but as we get closer to God's coming, as we get closer, seeing what God is going to do in this world, we're going to begin to see greater things, because he tells us in the Word that greater things that we've seen him do we shall do, because he goes to his Father and he's making preparations for us. I look back and I look and see things that's taking place in the world and I just see Jesus coming soon. I don't know if you're following Israel and what's taking place over there, but just watch Israel. My pastor was telling us just Sunday that take a look at China. If you want to see what's taking place in the Word, just watch China, because China is a big part of the last days. The last days, church is what's going to take place and I'm excited to see what he's doing.
Speaker 2:It's been a while, guys, and I'm just glad to be back on the air. You know I just keep putting it off, putting it off, but I said I've got to get in touch with the people because I keep watching my downloads every once in a while and see that, even though I've not been on in a while, there's still people downloading the programs and listings. So that lets me know that you're hungry and you want to know more of what my broadcast is about and I trust that you are able to tune in today and I just want to say thank you for all those that are tuning in. I keep, like I said, I keep checking and I see people from all over the United States, all over the world, tuning into the broadcast and our podcast. It just amazes me what God is doing. Speaker 2:Like I said, I've been having something on my mind coming into this new year and things and, as I said before, there's great things that God is doing in people's lives and I just know there's greater things that's going to take place If we just allow Him to, if we will allow Him to just take full control of our lives. Let Him just be the Lord of our life. We're getting ready to go into 2024. And I'm just excited. I'm excited to see what's going to take place. I'm excited what I will see God do in my life, because I want God to do great things and I want God to do great things in your life. But before we do that, we really need to focus on where we are in God, as we're doing some research for 2024, someone had done some research and I'm just going to copy what they found, and it's not nothing I found, but I think it's very interesting to see what 2024 stands for. But 2024 means it's a door of advancement. In other words, this year there'll be a year of change. A year of change in your life, if you allow it. There'll be a shift in your walk with God, if we will allow it. Again, all the stipulates on something we have to do If we don't partake in it, if we do not want any of this and nothing's going to happen. We're also going to see the year of transformation, a year of an awakening, and that's what excites me. I want to see God's people awake, see God's people really get in touch with him and begin to do the things that God has called us to do. We've sat back too long and we've allowed the enemy to take over the things that God said were ours. We've not been dominating like we should. We're supposed to be in control of this place, but we have let the enemy take control of things that does not concern the enemy. This is God's place. We are God's children and I'm ready to see a transformation. I'm ready to see a shift and a change in what we're doing. There's got to be an awakening in order for those things to take place. This will be a year of realignment. I don't know what needs to take place in your life, but I know in my life I need to change priorities. There has to be realignment. There's got to be God first before there is anything else. There is a pattern that God follows. If we do not follow that pattern, then we cannot see transformation in our lives. We cannot see a shift or change or even an awakening in our life. We're not following in alignment with God. This will be.
Speaker 2:Your relationships are renewed. How many know somebody that needs this in their life? There's marriages. Divorce rate is high. Relationships are not only marriages but friendships.
Speaker 2:I know there are times that there are seasons that people in our lives and sometimes they, break away. But sometimes people break away because sometimes we're just facing, we're stubborn, we get mad at the least little thing and we're ready to go off on somebody and just say, well, I'm done with you. That's when we're putting people out of our lives that God has put in there. We've got to realize that some people that in our lives God has put in place in there for a reason and there are some people that in our lives that don't need to be there. So those relationships that I believe that are ordained by God, I believe there's going to be renewing of that relationship. This will be the year all desires are surrendered to God's will. That's a strong statement. So that makes the next question I have is what is our desires? Is our desires to allow God to take full control of our lives and let him work in the capacity that he needs to work. Or is our desires those desires of things that we want? I'm not saying we shouldn't want things for ourselves, but there's something to say about someone that put God's first in their life. I mean, as we step into 2024, seeking God for our lives and putting him first, spending each day with him and listening for him to lead us, is the way that we're going to see advancement. That is the way we're going to see change and transformation. If we do not allow him, the Bible says seek he first. The kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be attitudes. If we are not seeking the kingdom of God, then we've done disobeyed the first order of the realignment. We've got to seek the kingdom. We've got to seek him first. I said this earlier today that you know if we will put God first, then everything in our lives will become our. It's just something that you know. I know for a fact. I know that if I put my priorities in the wrong place, then I know that I'm going to fail a lot of things. I know I'm not the person I need to be.
Speaker 2:We've been starting a book. Matter of fact, we just started it, the first January one, which is today. It's called Give Me 40 Days and in this book, the writer of this book would just talk about. You know, give God 40 days and see what he will do in our lives. Now we can do this and our church is doing this. We started today that, you know, we give God 40 days. Just give him 40 days of prayer and Thanksgiving and communing with communing with him and see what, you know, god can do.
Speaker 2:Now, in this first chapter, today, as we was reading, we were confronted with a very powerful statement, and that statement was is Jesus the number one priority in your life? I mean, can you answer that question truthfully? I mean, I'm going to be transparent here. If I was to answer that question truthfully, I would have to say no, oh, you say, but you're supposed to be a minister of the gospel, you're supposed to be a Christian. Well, we're human right, and we fight a daily battle with flesh and spirit, and a lot of times our flesh will win over the spirit. Why? Because Jesus is not our number one priority. Everything in our life that we face every day seems to be more important Our jobs more important, our families more important. You know, our cars are home. I mean, there's so many things that we can put before God and that's more important to us than spending time with God, and that's what this book is designed to do is get us to spend more time with him.
Speaker 2:The book goes on to sound. Just read a little excerpt from it and it says in God's kingdom, there is only one priority Jesus Christ. Just ask yourself, is he your first love? Is your relationship with Jesus the number one priority in your life? If not, jesus may be your savior, but he is not your Lord. Now that that that hurts, that hits home, and I hope it did for you, because we need to realize where we stand we. We may call him our savior, but is he the Lord of our life? The word Lord means the same thing in every language of the world. It means boss.
Speaker 2:It is possible to be a believer believer in Jesus and not a follower. True followers of Jesus willfully submit to him as their boss. Now I can hear you You're thinking right through to the podcast here. But ain't nobody gonna be my boss. I'm my boss. I'm gonna do what I want to do. I'm gonna go where I want to go. I want to say what I want to say. I'm gonna do as I please. No one's going to tell me I'm an adult. Yes, I said that too.
Speaker 2:I remember growing up that you know I kept saying, man, I'd be glad when I get out of my own, I make my own decisions. I ain't got a list of mom and dad Tell me what I need to do, where I need to go. You know, I've got to go to church. I got to do this, I got to do that. I wash dishes and things like that. I'm ready to be my own boss. Well see, what I didn't realize at the time was that even when I was my own boss, I still had the responsibilities. I still had to do things I didn't want to do. But if I didn't do them, then something else suffered. It's the same thing with God. If God is not Lord over your life, then something is suffering, something is falling behind.
Speaker 2:We can be a believer in Jesus all day long. We can say we believe in Jesus, we believe what the Bible says he can do, but we're really not a follower because we're following after our own flesh. We're following after the lusts of our eyes and lust of the flesh, the pride of life. We're following those things and until we allow the Lord to be the Lord of it, be our boss, we're going to fall short. Unless you are a follower of Jesus, you will never know the mysteries of his kingdom or enjoy the benefits the kingdom provides.
Speaker 2:See, in the new year, my desire and I hope this is your desire is that I want to make Jesus Lord of my life, not just my savior, but let him take full control of my life. This is not a resolution for me, it's not even a promise that I'll do this, but it is a desire. It is a desire that I want in my life that God can take control and I can put away my desires, the things that I want to do, and follow after Christ, because I'm realizing that we're living in the last days. I'm realizing that God's not going to prolong this thing very long. He's getting ready to come back and I want to be ready.
Speaker 2:I don't want to be found wanting. I want to be found doing the things that God has called me to do. I'm tired of allowing the enemy to corrupt my mind, take control of things that he should have no control over. And I'm not saying I'm lost or I'm a sinner or anything. I'm just saying I want more of God, I want to be closer to him. I want to to be more like he wants me to be, be. I want to reach others, and the only way to do that is I've got to put myself on the back burner. So when people see me, they don't. They don't see Glenn, they don't see me, they don't see my attributes or my character, but they see Christ. They see Christ in me.
Speaker 2:You know, in Psalms, chapter 37, it says delight yourself also in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in him. You see, if we do these things, he said, he will bring it to past. I want my desires to be more like rocks and to be found doing what he wants to. I like the translation that the passion has, the passion translations. He says find your delight and true pleasure in your way and he will give you what you desire the most. So what do we desire the most? You see, I still go back. I think that our desire most should be to be like Christ, give God the right to direct your life and as you trust him along the way, you'll find he pulled it off perfectly.
Speaker 2:You see, it's time that we, as a child of God, that we get away from trying to please our self and try to do the things that we want to do we're. We need to worry about our loved ones that are lost, those that are dying and going to heal, those that that once no Jesus knew Jesus, but they've walked away. We have so much to be thankful for today because of the cross. We have so much to be thankful because he saved us. Do we not want the same for those that are around us that we love or we say we love? Do we not want those things for ourselves? Do we want God to intervene in our life? Well, if we want advancement in the kingdom, if we want to see change in our lives and our family, if we desire to see transformation, then we are going to have to allow God to be Lord of our life, to take full control. Because I believe until we do that, until we allow God to take full control, then nothing and I know this is a strong state, but I don't believe God is going to bless those who are not willing to give a little bit, that's not willing to break down themselves and allow him to take full control.
Speaker 2:It's time as a church, as the body of Christ, to stand up for what's right, to stand up according to the word and be those disciples that God has called. I stroll on a daily basis of my calling because I don't think I'm worthy enough. But see, god didn't call the qualified, he qualified those he calls and he equips those he calls. So it doesn't matter what you think you're not worthy for, god said you are because he made a place for you. There's a reason. That's funny because I just thought about this. I was praying this morning in my devotion time and and I, and just part of my head I says there's a reason I'm still alive, there's a purpose and there's a purpose that you're hearing this today. There's a purpose that you're still alive. Are you fulfilling the purpose that God has called you to? It may be something small, but see, there's no small things in the kingdom.
Speaker 2:God is wanting to perform a work in you In this twenty twenty four season, this new year, the year of advancement, god is wanting to take you to a place that you've never been before. He's wanting to deliver you from out of where you at right now and he's wanting to take you to a place that you've never been, and it's not to say you're not qualified to be there. It's a place that he's planned for you, he's designed for you and he's wanting to take charge of it. And I don't know what that is and I'm not. I don't know what it is for my life, but my desire is to find it. My desire is to see the change in my life this year. My desire is to see a transformation, to see realignment from where I used to be. The war be next year at this time.
Speaker 2:I don't want to be at the same place I'm at right now and, as a child of God, you should want to be the same thing. You will. You want to advance the kingdom. You want to advance your own spiritual life. Why do you want to advance your spiritual life? So that you could show others. We are a walking testimony and when we are among those that are not follows of Jesus, we're the only hope they have right now. They need to see Jesus in us. They need to see Jesus performing works in us If we're constantly doing things that are not what the scripture says and how we're going to win people.
Speaker 2:If we're not left our old address and moved on to the new address of God as force, then we're not going to reach nobody. If we're still doing the very same thing that we've always done, then we can't reach those that are lost. Guys, I love you and I thank you so much for joining in today. I just shared my heart with you. I promise you it won't be as long as it was last year. My desire is to be more, more focused on this this year and to have more broadcast out, podcast out every month and what I did last year, because I I love to see the reaction I get from people.
